The Digital Photography Show #1 – An interview with BetterPhoto.com and a great contest you can win!
Welcome to the first episode of the Digital Photography Show!
Today’s show is jam packed. First, Michael and I tell you a little bit about the show and ourselves. After those introductions (also known as “the boring part”), we launch into a discussion of the Photo Marketing Association’s Annual Show, in which all the major players roll out their new cameras and software.
What are the new big trends in upcoming digital cameras? How many megapixels do you really need? What should you look for in your next camera purchase? Michael and I fill you in.
Then we cover two new programs out there for viewing and sorting your RAW files: Apple Aperture and Adobe Lightroom. Is Aperture worth it’s $500 price tag? Is Lightroom worth it’s current $0 pricetag (for a limited time, Adobe is offering it as a free download). Michael has hands-on experience with both programs and he’ll give you the full scoop.
After the break, we have a terrific interview with Jim Miotke, founder and president of BetterPhoto.com. Jim is a great guy and Betterphoto.com is one of the best, most comprehensive digital photography sites in the world.
Jim tells you about his site’s courses, articles, forums, and all the other digital goodness that awaits you at the click of a mouse. He’ll also share his top ten tips for beginners (but you could use them, too). You’ll definitely want to add Betterphoto.com to your Favorites menu.
