		<description>Leon is right. The idea that JPG files slowly degrade is oft-repeated and quite wrong. If you make several modifications to a jpg, it will lose quality each time you save it, but that's not the same as files magically losing info just because it's a jpg.</description>

I have just downloaded all your podcasts and starting to make my way through them. But this one made me chuckle. The guy you interviewed gave some great insight into RAW, but when he described Jpegs as lossy and they slowly degrade the more and more they are opened, I laughed my arse off. What a funny comment. The only time jpegs loose information is when they are first created from the RAW data as compression is applied. But they are digital and do not magically disintegrate. If that were true...would the internet not start disappearing?
