Help Out Another Photo Podcaster
July 6, 2006: Our listener Andy send us this note:
Hi Scott, Michael,I’m sorry to say that Chris Marquardt’s studio got burgled the other day (the guy who runs Tips from the Top Floor podcast). He had a lot of gear stolen, which was NOT INSURED, including a brand new Canon 5D, a Canon EF80-200 2.8L lens and a Samsung laptop.

Now I know Chris’ runs a similar podcast to yours, but I’m hoping that you might be able to say something on your show about this - if you could perhaps list the stolen equipment and serial numbers and ask people to keep an eye on eBay for suspicious items. It would also be an opportune time to remind people to get their equipment insured and to make a note of serial numbers, should the worst happen.
C’mon guys, I know you would feel awful if this happened to you - please help Chris out. Right, I’m off to make a note of the serial numbers on my gear right now…

Micheal and Scott. I’d like to talk to you about doing and interview. I’m photographing the Badwater footrace at the of the month. It a 132 mile race from Badwater, Death Valley to Mt. Whitney Portal. Here is the Web address of the race if you want to learn more, http://www.badwater.com
I’ve photo’d the race since 2001 and will be doing it again this year. I could take a few minutes during the race to call you and so a short interview for you.
It’s an eciting event, temps as high as 130F, long distances, etc. There will be about 90 competitors from 14 countries.
