The Big Move

July 31, 2006: Sorry for the infrequent posts, but I’m in the middle of The Big Move. No, not from Canon to Nikon (although I have considered it) but from Vermont to Maryland.

I’m staying in a Best Western right now (although if this is the best Western, I’d hate to see the worst) in anticipation of the closing on my new house later today. Tomorrow, our furniture and household goods should be delivered (in 100 degree weather - I feel sorry for the moving men!) and I’ve already scheduled installation of high-speed internet for the following day.

Michael and I already taped our show for this week, so they’re shouldn’t be a break in our schedule. It features an interview with Alex Goldfayn, The Technology Tailor. Alex talks about his new book, Going Digital, a complete guide to digital photography and movie making. Alex is a technology columnist and radio host, and he’s a great interview.  By the end of our chat, we’re talking about Nintendo Dual Screens and Powerbooks.

I’ve already heard from one listener who lives near my new neighborhood, and we’re planning a photography play date (he’s even gonna let me use his Canon 5D!). If any other listeners are near the Bethesda, MD, Washington, DC or Northern Virginia area, give me a shout at thedigitalphotographyshow@gmail.com.

Take care and stay cool.

  1. Allen Rockwell Says:

Great to hear from you Scott. Hope all is going well with the move.

So, you are going to get to play with a 5D … Ouch, that’s dangerous. Better call the equipment lady and see how much you can get for your 2 week old 30D :)

Looking forward to the next podcast.

BTW, I’ve spent some time (a few months) on business in the DC area … parts of it are quite beautiful. I hope you like it there. I’m sure you’ll like the Georgetown area, quite fun.

    TTFN,
