LISTEN TO THE PODCAST HERE

November 16, 2006: Welcome to the tactastic twenty seventh episode of The Digital Photography Show. Tactasitc means so tacky that its cool, which doesn’t have anything to do with today’s content, but I just like the word!

We’re back this week with more from the floor of PhotoPlus Expo, one of the world’s largest photography trade shows.

On today’s show, we have taped conversations with the good folks at HP, Bibble and Monsterpod. These are all cool companies with some great products.

HP and Monsterpod are having contests on the show today. Listen for all the details. All entries are due by November 29th, 2006.

Bibble is extending their trade-show discount to you, our listeners. Click here for an exclusive link to save on this popular editing program. (The link won’t be active until November 17th, and will work through the end of the month.)

We also talk with Dave Etchells, creator of the influential and informative website imaging-resource.com. I know, we just talked to him last week! But we had to have him on to tell us all about the Nikon D40, which he’s actually played with! Hear him describe all it’s entry-level goodness.

We also welcome to today’s show our new advertiser Phanfare. Michael and I love this product. It’s the most attractive and easiest way to create your web albums. Phanfare is offering a $7 discount on the first year’s service to our listeners. We’ll announce the savings code next week, but in the meantime, get started playing with the service. You won’t be sorry.

You can also check out our Phanfare album by clicking here. We have photos from PhotoPlus Expo (you’ll get to see me and Michael! What a thrill!) as well as some product demos.

Thanks as always for tuning in and for your incredibly kind feedback and the great reviews you’ve been leaving us on iTunes.

Another great show guys. I went to your phanfare site, very cool. You guys are not nearly as scary as I thought you’d be :)

BTW, Michael… I saw that photo of you looking through that 600mm Mikon lens. Dream on baby! I dream of the Canon version of that lens every night :)

Good show guys, tempted to buy a copy of bibble based on your comments but couldn’t find any post about a voucher to reduce the cost from their listing of $129. There was nothing mentioned in the podcast either. Am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, had to drop you a line just to say that I’m fully greatfull for your hard work with this podcast and I find it very usefull. I’m in the UK and will whore you guys to whoever will listen to me!! I’m now, like you thinking of trying to make photography more than just a hobby. Been shooting film for years and just got a Canon 10D second hand, seems like an awesome camera for the money! Thinking of going for the 17-40mm L lense from Canon with this, any thoughts?

Laters, keep up the good work and thanks again Paul H.

  4. Scott Says:

Allen, thanks for saying we’re not as scary as you expected — we’re actually scarier.

Steve, I posted the link on the blog’s homepage.

Paul, Thank you for whoring us. We’ve been selling out for years - glad someone’s finally buying! That lens is very highly regarded. You can read reveiws at Fredmiranda.com and DSLRGear.com.

Listened for the fist time. Really enjoyed yoru show and expect to become a regular listener. I posted the web address for Monster-pod on a photo forum, I love the idea. I also would love to win the one your giving away but either you did not mention how to enter the contest or I did not listen well enough. Could you let me knwo how to enter?
Thanks and I look forward to hearing much more from you both, keep up the good work.
    Mike

  6. Aaron Says:

    Thanks for another great episode.

Any update on the saving code for phanfare? I love the service and my trail is about to expire. I am going to sign up either way but saving 7 bucks would be great…THANKS!!!

  7. Scott Says:

Aaron - I’m glad you like the service. Michael and I really do, too.

We’re going to announce the code on next week’s show, but since your trial may expire before then, I sent you an email. Let me know if you get it. Or didn’t.

    Scott

  8. Aaron Says:

Scott, Thanks for the fast reply. I left the t out of my e-mail, so I didn’t receive the email you sent. Sorry about that. My trial expires on the 30th, if the podcast comes out before then I can wait. Thanks again.

    Aaron

I was a volunteer at the Nikonians both at Photo Expo. We had a great time talking to all photographers who came our way(even Cannon shooters). Its a great web site with about 65,000 members worldwide. Keep up the great shows.
