Hi Scott and Michael

On the show scott was commenting on saving jpegs from a 16 bit image, and that there should be a way to do it without having to conver to an 8bit image first. Well, there is a way to do it! If you choose "save to web" instead of the normal save you can save the file as a jpeg regardless of the image bit depth.

Hope that helps!

Scott and Michael

I only started listening to your podcast a few weeks ago. What an interesting and informative show. Great listening on morning walks and drives to and from work. Hope you locked down some good sponsorship deals for 2007 so you can keep up the great work.

And congratulations to the 14 finalists (14!? - nice number I guess) in your photo competition; and to the ultimate winner - that will be a hard one to pick.

Cheers from that large trans-Atlantic (not) island called Australia

PS Good to see an Aussie in your final 14.

I just saw a link to this "how to" article on connecting your XBox 360 to your home media center computer. If I am not mistaken, this is what Scott was referring to on the podcast.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909536/en-us

I do not have an XBox; I just saw the link and thought others might be interested.

Fellas, Rick commenting on MY photo! Gawd. I forgot to put in that it was a Christmas Beatle (hence the theme). People please vote as there are some great photos!

My shot in the following set-up.
Canon 300D (Rebel) on Tripod (with Mirror Lock-up courtesy of Undutchables Hack)
Remote Shutter Release- Cable.
Green Bathroom towel in the background (photo taken on a minesite so props are somewhat limited).
Alluminum Foil underneath to bounce back the reading light.
Tamron 28-75 f2.8 (not a macro lens so that is the bottom quarter of a 6 meg image).

Thanks to your podcast I'm going to start to jump into the world of RAW.
Thanks guys for putting my photo up, you've made this lil digger very happy!

I can't wait for next weeks show. I have never had what I thought of as honest feedback on my photos, this should be a first. Thanks for including one of my pics in your final selections. Being a legally blind photographer, it is a thrill to get any notice at any time.
Hope you have a monthly themed contest with few rules, it is a kick.

Another interesting show, guys. Although I'm a Mac fan-girl, I'm always interested to see what the evil operating system is up to.

I join my fellow DPS fans in encouraging Scott and Michael to have more photo contests. I have really enjoyed viewing the work submitted to the Holiday Macro contest and I'm in awe of the skills of many of my fellow listeners. I wouldn't want to have to judge this contest.

I look forward to Rick Sammons comments.

Hi Michael and Scott,

Just a quick note to say I'm so thrilled to be one of the finalists in the Holiday Macro contest! I look forward to next weeks edition to hear the comments from both of you and Rick Sammon on all the finalists. Contests and assignments are fun as they get you out taking photos of things you might not of otherwise photographed.

Happy New Year to you both and to all the listeners of the digital photography show!

I am listening to the podcast right now and I just heard the bit about NAPP. I am a member of NAPP myself and I recently did a podcast about some of the membership benifits ... you might want to join NAPP even if you are not a Photoshop fan-boy (or girl) after listening to my podcast.

Check it out here: http://www.allenrockwellphoto.com/Site/Podcast/82C57410-02AB-4FBD-89A2-B1AA0B625A10.html

...or search iTunes podcast directory for "Allen Rockwell" and get the episode called "Join the club..."
