No nukes! No nukes! Oh - wrong podcast - sorry.

Love the show! Great for workouts at the gym - book tapes get old. Keep it audio please (no videos like some others are doing.) Seems like an odd request for a visual art.

Interesting discussion on camera phones & consumer digitals how MEGA-PIXELS always seems to be the FOCUS. Ever look at the size of the glass in that camera phone? Ever think what the heck size sensor rests behind it? Need a microscope almost to see them. Now step up (don't be shy) and look at the size of this lens and sensor in this consumer camera. Same MEGAPIXELS. Still itty-bitty. Hmmm ... but it's got double or triple the glass and sensor of the phone? Wonder which will take better pictures? Now throw in the same size MEGAPIXEL DSLR (still only 35mm) and top it off with some honker glass. Photo comparison? Not much need is there? And we won't even go into BIGGER formats. Reality is most people still print 4x6 and rarely 8x11.5. MEGAPIXELS are about maxed out consumer function wise. Glass & sensors got'ta become where its at.
I would think Canon and Nikon know full well who, what, and where the market is going.

Oh, the more I see this camera and read about it the more I can't wait to get my hands on it. The video clip on that site titled "Need for Speed" made bits of me tingle :)

Scott if you feel someone pushing you out of the way at the Canon booth at PMA to get ahold of the Mark III ... it will probably be me :) And if anyone has them for sale by then (doubtful) I'll be going home with a very unhappy credit card ... but at least my shutter finger will be VERY happy!

no more wrong than going to zoo, and taking as much interest in people's cameras as the animals. Like I did last weekend.

Hi Scott,

As you probably know, Canon has had the 1D family of professional digital cameras for many years now...in order the 1D, 1D MarkII, 1D Mark IIN, and now the Mark III. I'm not aware of ANYONE who actually says the EOS moniker in front of them. It's not like you say Canon EOS 30D when you describe yours. Oh yeah, I left out the "S" models...lol. They are the full frame versions...more for commercial work than sports and journalism.

Since I'm into fast moving sports I added a Mark IIN to my kit last year after having a 20D for a couple years. Do I want the new MkIII model? SURE I do, but I won't be running out to buy another >$3K camera anytime soon;)

You know, I think the real deal out there will be for "previously owned" versions of the older 1D models as the high end pros replace their current cameras with the new model. The advanced focus system of the 1 series was the main differentiator for me. I rarely use the 8 frames per second capability, but I certainly get more "keepers" when tracking a moving target that I did with the 20D.
