I’m On My Way
March 6, 2007: The cool thing about wireless internet access? I’m writing this at a Burger King (only the best for me!) at the Charlotte, NC airport, awaiting my transfer to my flight to Las Vegas for PMA.
I’m so excited! Micheal and I have set meetings with Adobe and Nikon (have you seen their announcments about the new D40X? I don’t get the point of increasing the specs for an entry level camera unless they’re discontinuing the old model (so now they have two entry-level cameras? Huh?). But since the D40X is is more expensive than its little sibling, my guess is they’ll both endure.
Well, we’ll ask the Nikon reps about this when we see them. I’m sure we’ll also be having tons of ad hoc on-the-floor interviews and demos over the three days of the show. And, of course, we’ll be scratching and clawing for all the giveaways and discounts we can extort cajole for you.
Michael arrives tomorrow, so tonight I’ll be gambling and getting into trouble quietly preparing for the big show. We’ve already set up meetings with two show listeners - if you’re going to be in the area, shoot us a line at TheDigitalPhotographyShow@gmail.com and we’d love to meet you.

Could you ask the Nikon reps whatever happened to Nikon View Pro? It was supposed to debut with Capture NX, and looked like the perfect compliment for me and I’m sure many others. But it seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth. There’s rumors that what it was supposed to become will be included in future version of NX. Ask them if this is the case. Thanks! Keep up the good work.

A few shows ago, you mentioned a drawing for Capture NX. I have not heard you annouce a winner, did I miss it or have you not had the drawing as yet?
