It felt like somewhere around 20 to me. So, I slowed it down and counted (several times, just to check). I count 41 frames, and if I am off, it is likely only by one or two. So, not that I am trying to say the new Canon is not lightning fast or anything, but the way the rep talked just sounded so biased. In other words, it was opinion when fact was so easily at hand: he could have just reviewed the photos, checked the file number of the last frame, and probably impressed us all even more with a very accurate figure, one we could not doubt. 41 is pretty awesome in just under five seconds, but an offhand comment that it was 60 just makes the cynics out here want to go count. I'm new to digital photography - still shooting with a Canon Powershot S70 (& getting terrific pictures) - and listen avidly to you each week as I need to upgrade to a d-slr asap!!!! After listening to your show I downloaded Lightroom and it seems to be just what I need. I've been using Picasa but it's too limited. I've improved just listening to the two of you. You say it's March 2006)... Love the show, and I also wish for a spaceship... I mean 1D Mark III... I'd want to own it just to hear the gatling gun effect of the shutter ;) I still fail to see how Lightroom is a paradigm shift, really.
