The Digital Photography Show #46: Nik Software, Sharpcast and more! (29MB, 125 mins)

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE

April 9, 2007: Welcome to the faith-filled forty sixth episode of The Digital Photography Show!

Today’s show features the last of our interviews from PMA.

We talk to:

  1. Nik Software: They make fantastic photo filters that plug into Photoshop. They’re giving away a free copy of their very popular Color Efex Select to a lucky listener. This is great software that Michael and I use all the time.
  2. Sharpcast: This photo-sharing site has some nifty back-up and synchronization features. Enter our drawing to win a free year of full membership.
  3. Crumpler: They make very funky and functional bags to carry your stuff – including your digital photography stuff.
  4. Zoom Album: This is a great way to share your photos in a traditional medium called…what’s the word again? Oh yeah, print. You make these super-pocketable albums using your home printer and they turn out really neat. We have three sets of these you can win by answering the trivia question in the show.

Also, have you entered our show’s latest photo contest – “Food on the Move?”

Not many of you have, which means your odds are better for winning a Wacom Graphire 6×8 Bluetooth Tablet. Check out this wireless goodness and know what it is to experience true photo-editing comfort.

Send your pictures to TheDigitalPhotographyShow@gmail.com.

Thanks to our advertiser DXO (www.dxo.com) for the 20% discount they are only offering to listeners of this show. Try the program for free, and when you’re ready to buy, use the code DPSSHOW.

And don’t forget the fifty buck discount on Alien Skin’s Snap Art. Just call and tell them you heard about it on The Digital Photography Show.

Thanks to everyone for listening and joining us here on the blog. Keep the emails and posts coming.

In the spirit of this Passover/Easter/Who-knows-what-else-season, I’ll leave you with these inspirational words from the Unitarian Universalist First Parish in Concord, MA. We say this at the closing of every service at our local UU Church.

Go out into the World in Peace
Have Courage
Hold on to what is good
Return to no person evil for evil
Strengthen the faint-hearted
Support the weak
Help the suffering
Honor all beings.

    Hey Scott and Michael!
I always listen to your show and like it a lot. Sometimes I actually WAIT for the show to be available! Due to the fact that I traveling a lot I often listen on the road. So this is actually the first time I am posting to your blog.
And here is what I’d like to share:
Crumpler bags are REALLY GREAT! I think I bought my first crumpler bag somewhere in 1999 or 2000. It is a laptop bag which meanwhile is not on sale anymore. But even tough I am using it almost daily (and I am using it rough) it still looks great and I still love it! I must admit that I don’t have a crumpler photo bag (yet!?), but I suppose they will be the same quality. Therefor I can definitely recommend it to everyboy ehos looking for a great quality bag with cool design :-)

    Cheers
    Thorge

  2. Mike Says:

Love the show but… I searched every inch of the Krumpler site and couldn’t find the contest answer (ID#MD0704?).
I found, read about and ordered the $7 Million Dollar Home but couldn’t find an ID# for it.
Did they update the site? Am I nuts?

    Just curious,
    Mike

  3. Mike Says:

    Never mind…..
I used Google to search for Crumpler and must have found an old version of their site. It had the bag but no Model number.

I used the show link to their site and it was a completely different site - with model number.

    Oh well!

  4. Bianca Says:

Great Show guys. I haven’t had a chance to post on the blog in a while since I was a little behind but I’ve almost caught up.

Love the show and have really enjoyed all the info from the blog too. Thanks for a great show.

Scott - I love the benediction, that’s really a nice way of saying all the things that need to be said.

  5. Benny Baughman Says:
