May 26, 2007: Welcome to the fifty-second episode of The Digital Photography Show!
We’ve been using Phanfare forever to share our photos and host our photo contests. Today, CEO and founder of Phanfare Andrew Erlichson comes on to tell us about what’s new and improved with the service and a little about what’s coming up, too.
He also makes a great offer of sanctuary to Yahoo photo users.
We’re big fans of Phanfare. Try it free for a month and you may be, too. Also, check out our Phanfare page at http://dps.phanfare.com and see our latest contest entries. It’s too late to send in your pictures, but you can definitely enjoy those of your fellow listeners.
Andrew also gives away a free Phanfare subscription. Enter the contest to enjoy a year’s worth of beautiful online albums. Send your answers to us at TheDigitalPhotographyShow@gmail.com.
Speaking of the conest, the winner takes home a Wacom Graphire 6×8 tablet. He or she will enjoy the best in pen-based, natural photo editing.
We also talk with Kerry of L7Foto.com. Kerry is a listener of The Digital Photography Show, so we’d love him even if he hadn’t started a very useful site where he features some great deals for his fellow photographers.
In other listener news, Andrew has created Fotobonobo.com, a Flickr-type site which lists and ranks stories of interest to digi-shooters. I bookmarked Andrew’s site and I think you should, too. Tons of useful reviews, news and tips await!
We love when our listeners get jiggy with it, creating new and useful resources.
Thanks to our advertiser DXO (www.dxo.com) for the 20% discount they are only offering to listeners of this show. Try the program for free, and when you’re ready to buy, use the code DPSSHOW.
And don’t forget the fifty buck discount on Alien Skin’s Snap Art and the 50% discount (!!!) on Exposure. Just call and tell them you heard about it on The Digital Photography Show.
Thanks to everyone for listening and joining us here on the blog. Go make some art!
Scott

thanks for the Fotobonobo.com link, good example of why people need to get their website working properly and looking nice before promoting it. The site is a good idea, but boy does it need some finishing touches

I have just listened to the show and, like the previous shows, enjoyed its variety and helpfulness. You guys do a great job. I particularly like your interviews and look forward to hearing more from Scott Kelby if you can get him again (he is so busy and popular I think it is a real feather in your cap getting him to contribute). Thanks for your time and efforts.

Just wanted to warn everyone that Anvona’s ebay store rating may not be exaclty correct. I’ve purchased multiple items from them with good luck. But I also had one bad experience. The item I won was not in stock and took over a month before it was available (I could not use it on my vacation), so I gave them a negative review, and thought nothing else of it.
A week or two later, when I was on vacation, I recieved an nasty email from a third party arbitration service, demanding that I submit why I gave a negative review or the rating would be removed from ebay (which they did). The service cost Amvona $15 per arbitration, for a $10 winning bid. Because of this I have been banned from bidding on any item sold through Amvona’s ebay store.
Three years later, I’m still unable to bid on any of there items, even though I would like to.
