Contest #4 Finalists Posted
June 1, 2007: Judging our latest photo contest nearly killed us! We had over 500 entries, many, many of which were outstanding. We whittled it down to a group of about 70 semifinalists, and then did one more grueling cut down to 14 finalists.
Whew!
On our next show, we’ll critique and judge the finalists with Kevin Kubota, a great photographer and teacher.Â
I don’t have a particular gift for prognostication, but with so many beautiful photographs entered into the contest, I’m sure we’ll hear from some of you who think we’ve chosen wrong. We’ve already gotten one comment from someone who noticed the finalists posted on our Phanfare site and strongly disagreed with our decisions.
Hey, it’s an art not a science. We worked hard to choose what we thought were the 14 best finalists, but other eyes will see it differently. If there was another picture you really loved, feel free to post about it below. I’m sure the photographers will appreciate the positive feedback. Â
In the end, there can be only one photo chosen to receive the grand prize of a Wacom Graphire 6×8 tablet. .
But all these finalists are winners.
Exhaustedly,
Scott
