This was my first critique episode - I am a new listener and trying to catch up on all of the shows. I really like that you give honest pluses and minuses to each of the finalists - what a great way to improve photography. Congrats to the finalists and to the winner!

Great show guys and congrats to the winner of this contest, I don't admire the job you guys have picking a winner, but I really do appreciate the beautiful shots in the contest. I also wanted to state I recently finished listening all 76 episodes and really enjoyed the show, I really find the critiques and analysis you guys give on these contests are both helpful and informative. Thanks for the great show and keep up the great work. I also joined the flickr group, and I must say there are some really talented individuals in the group, I recommend everyone should check it out. Regards.

GREAT shots! Congratulations to the winner and the rest of the contestants. It's great to hear comments from a pro like Chris, but you guys are really knowledgeable with your comments too.

I'm a new listener and like many others have been doing catch up with your earlier shows. I'm now through all of them, which literally took me day and night since I joined late November. very interesting discussions among the two of you, really good interviews with a variety of industry hot shots. I'm looking forward to your next 76 shows.

Keep up the good work guys!

Thanks for the link in the show notes to the Phanfare page to see the contest pics. In the future please use flickr where all your fans are. It's done on flickr all the time it's easy and accessable to everyone. That's a good thing right? I don't want to jump through hoops to see the pics if you're not going to add it in the show notes Scott.

I believe Sasha passed the audition - Scott your out. It's the Sasha and Michael Stein Digital Photography Show. "Sasha, hold the mic closer to your mouth!"

With such an incredible collection of photos, I was blown away to be in the finals. I never thought I would win, but I was so honored to be there.

And, yes, Scott. You nailed it. I wrote "SnapArt" on the photo to show my fellow DPS listeners what it can do. I deserve no credit. AlienSkin was the finalist, not me.

Bravo to the winner. The photo takes my breath away every time I look at it.

I must say, Phil Lu's shot also stopped my breathing; it is one of the most beautiful B&W shots I have ever seen. Phil's shot looks like the trumpeter just finished playing with a "creative hand" and is taking a quiet moment to contemplate the music. I thought it satisfied the contest theme for sure. Tough to pick a winner here.

I better quit looking at the photos. It is a health risk!

Thank you very much for the nice comments about my
photo. Even though I didn't win it was an honor to
have you guys and Chris, who is one of my gurus,
ponder and analyze it.

You had several questions about the performer, his
gaze and what it is exactly that he was doing. The
whole performance was about a prince (the man in the
photo) and his princess, who you can see here:

http://bertold.zenfolio.com/p695324777/?photo=h18842DB7#411315639

The princess was kidnapped by...errr...someone (this
wasn't entirely clear to me, since I was so busy taking
pictures I didn't really concentrate on what they were
saying and doing). The picture of the prince was taken
after he slew the Bad Guy and stood over his body with
that "stay away from my woman" look on his face. In his
left hand he is holding the spear he killed the Bad Guy
with. The flare was lit as a warning to others who may
be thinking that they too would like a crack at the
princess (and who could blame them).

Thank you again for appreciating the photo enough to
make it a finalist in your contest and congratulations
to the winner.

All the best,
Bernard
