A New Show Coming Soon…We Think

Firstly, thanks to all of you who have been writing about the show…we are working hard to get a new one on the air ASAP.

As you probably know, technical difficulties with the site prevented us from posting for the past few weeks. We think we have those ironed out, and Michael and I taped a show on Tuesday (five days ago).

Wouldn’t you know it - for some strange reason the audio went wonky halfway through. We don’t know why. At this point, we are considering the folllowing possibilities…

Reasons  You Haven’t Been Hearing The Digital Photography Show:

  1. The show is cursed: If anyone has a placed a dark malice on our podcast, would you please remove it? Thanks!
  2. The show has swine flu: A couple of years ago, “swine flu” was all you heard about. Now, not so much. Where did it go? Into the internets? Can you prove it’s not true?
  3. Michael is a double agent: Yeah, yeah, Michael seems really nice, but isn’t it always the ones you don’t suspect? Perhaps Michael is a double agent working for one of the other digital photography podcasts to sabotage ours. It could happen.

As you can see, this situation has me losing my mind.

We do hope to be on the air soon. In the meantime, you can read my photography blog at ScottsPhotoBlog.com and see Michael’s latest pictures at his Phanfare site.  You can also friend me on MySpace - it should be clear we need all the friends we can get.

Talk soon (we hope!)

Scott

Maybe it is related to that wierd plagiarized post of one of your blog entries that you located on some other site? Ever since that happened, things have been really crazy.

p.s. What ever happened to the Jessica Claire interview? I have been dying to hear that one, as you know, I am a fan-girl of hers.

  2. Sue Says:

Good things come to those who wait. So patiently we wait whatever the reason. Hope you get everything straightened out so you can go back to doing that vodoo that you do so well.

  3. Paul Says:

I think Michael is trouble. You know how when they interview the neighbors of mass murderer’s and they say “He was such a nice, quiet boy.” That’s Michael!!

I love the show and will wait as long as it takes.

    Michael and Scott,

How are you guys? Hope this note finds you well - and please know you and the show are missed. I’m writing today to tell you that and to ask a technical question of you and your listeners/friends as well.

First - long overdue thanks for the show. I love the sincerity and enthusiasm you each bring to the show. I’ve found mpix through you, lightroom, scott kelby, and tons of useful and inspiring stuff. Thank you!

    Secondly- A question.

A friend of mine is a wedding photograper in the UK - she shoots with a Canon 5D and used a Sandisk Extreme IV 4-gig card during a wedding last week. She formatted the card before the event, saw the photos on her LCD screen during the shoot and even was able to scroll through them hours after they were taken. Later, when she went to download the photos to her computer - she has none of the wedding day’s photos but only photos from 2 or 3 weeks earlier.

I am trying to help her get these images back. I am not a Canon shooter - so I am wondering if you’ve heard of this problem before? Do you know of a website or program that may help?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    - ralph

Is TPN supposed to fix this issue? For a company with commercial endevours, they are mighty slow to get it fixed. I wonder what the sponsors think.

  6. Arthur Says:

    Scott and Michael-

Missing you guys. The other shows, while fun to listen to, just are not the same. And, in all this time, new photography podcasts have already since joined the fray.

    But everyone is missing you!

TWIP (This Week in Photography), The Digital Story (Derek Story), Inside Digital Photo Radio (Scott Sheppard). Real enhanced podcasts to listen to and watch. Imagine the surprise of reading that you guys want to come back. There is so much great competition out there. We have had to find all this out because you guys and the podcast network couldn’t get their act together. I don’t want to put pressure on you guys but to win us back, (I imagine) it will be very tough. I expect great interviews - sharp poignant dialog - and most of all humorous (SCOTT) anecdotes. You have time to reflect, create, reinvent if you will, fresh new ideas that will BLOW the competition out. You guys have been doing this a while now and are passionate about delivering the best content and I know the recent problems will make your show fresher and stronger than ever;-)

  9. Mikael Says:

No worries guys, we’re waiting for you. Whenever you are ready, we’re all here for you.

  10. Calvin Lu Says:

Your show was the first I started listening to and I do wish you guys well. Maybe it is time to add a third member to help with hosting and producing the show. Your show used to be one of the best but all the delays and lack of them is quite disappointing. I know the show is free but I do wish to see you guys getting rich with more sponsorships. I think Scott is way better interviewing anyone than the guys at TWIP. But the guys at TWIP have so much more experience in photography and computer….. Maybe adding a third member to your team could enhance these area.

  11. Carter Says:

Your show is unique and we listen for the friendship and humor mixed in with the great interviews and camera information. When you two are able to put out the next show, the fans will be there and happy to have you back.

  12. darryn from downunder Says:

mate love the podcasts been lisening for 6 months, look forward to a lot more from you fellars . keep up the great work. cheers

  13. Antonio Marques Says:

I’d say it’s a government conspiracy to hide the fact that Michael is an alien.

In any case, my podcatcher is waiting to be pinged by another great DPS episode.

Keep up the fantastic work you have been doing.

  14. Trevor Says:

Hey guys, I really do (should I say did?) like your show! I’d have to agree with Michael C though. You guys have sponsors and listeners that support your show. Regardless of what the problems that have caused the current situation, you’re kind of letting us down here. To say that you haven’t posted a show in a few weeks is a little stretch. It’s been since 4/6. I just hope that you don’t lose sponsors and listeners to the point that you can’t do the show anymore!

  15. Caledonia Says:

Waiting patiently - hope to hear something from you both soon. From a listeners perspective it would appear that The Podcast Network have let you both down big time - they do the technical stuff, and if they haven’t resolved things by now I would suggest you guys should look for a new hosting and distribution company. You were one of their star acts and they’ve blown it big time.

Good luck with getting things sorted out. I’m already fed up listening to how much in love Scott Bourne is with himself on TWIP.

  16. Bill Says:

iTunes just downloaded #88 - a good sign!

Miss ya and hope you get back up soon!

    Bill

  17. Paul Says:

Still no show, its been over a month! Is TPN that bad that they cannot figure out this problem. Time to jump ship and get another provider. See if Scott Kelby can help you guys out.

  18. John Says:

You guys must be censoring a lot of comments.. Mine never seem to get posted. You’re loosing listeners by the boatloads. Hurry!

You could have built a new network by now! Lord help these guys for they know not—

    Michael/Scott-

I too miss you guys… but really u guys deserve this break… I mean 2 years of hard work and blood/sweat/tears….

If ya’ll do decide to come back, I hope that new shows won’t be as buggy as it has been for the last month… Maybe (and this is a request from the bottom of my heart) you guys can blog some written material on this website to curve our hunger for your show….

Thanks for all the previous shows… Hope to hear from ya’ll soon!

    hees

  21. Joe Says:

Looking forward to having you guys back. Its funny: several of my favorite podcasts — this one, PCMag Radio and Manager Tools — have all had RSS feed issues or other issues with their podcasts over the past month. I don’t know if its coincidence or hacking. I suspect the latter…

In any event, I hope we get a fix soon.

  22. John Mc Says:

Hurry up & get back online guys, you were my photographic inspiration!

Until Scott & Michael get back with another Podcast, I’m going to load up my MP3 player with the Kuschel Song - Schnuffel, as a sadistic protest!!!!!!

  23. John Hilman Says:

First the show. I miss it. I too love Jessica Claire’s work and look forward to the interview.

    now Ralph…

If your friend can still see the wedding photos after putting the card back into the camera, i have had this happen to me. The solution is to refresh the contents of the drive, after putting into your flash card reader.

  24. Cameron Says:

Paul / Michael, TPN has been up and running fine for a month. We apologize for the trouble we had in April, as you may be aware, we were hacked by a trojan and did have to re-build the entire system. But apart from a few small bugs, it’s been stable for a month or so.
